Eiko wondered slowly into Konoha, she was only here to pick up supplies since Kuro had decided to gorge himself on 2 weeks worth of food in 2 days though at least she'd convinced him she should go and do this on her own. She really had no patience for his infernal racket.
She moved as though she were exhausted, as slow as she could move as was her habit. She made her way through the streets of konoha stopping at various shops. On her way out of a ninja tool supply shop, as she loaded the various senbon and kunai into her arm pouches, Eiko made a rare clumsy blunder and walked straight into someone who was on their way into the shop. the polite thing to do would have been apologuise but Eiko was adverse to unessecary conversation and continued on her way.
She always came across as rude though she just genuinely couldn't abide noises that didn't need to be made. She hated this Village like she hated most urban areas and it came across in her behaviour. Since abandoning Sunagakure she had truely lost her patience for people. After she filled her rucksack with food items she proceded to leave the village.
She stopped in a small grassy opening just outside the village walls but a small way into the woods. It was quiet here and she hadn't eaten in a while. Now, before she rejoined Kuro, seemed the ideal time to have a meal and enjoy the peace.

"Cheat!” “Dumbass!” “Cow!” “...” “...that is really irritating.” The large longhorn cow made a strange movement that resembled a shrug, then lowered her head and mock-charged the guy in front of her, who quickly dived out of the way. “Oi, you little...!” The teenager swore, then stood up, signing for a time out. “I’ve gotta go – Dad wanted help with something; he said to be back by one.” The bovine nodded her mighty head, then shifted into a tall, dark haired girl, around the same age as the boy; late teens. “Alright, I’ll finish beating you up later. I’m gonna go for a walk, tell mum I might not be back for a while.” She replied, combing strands of long brunette hair out of her eyes, the single crimson bang in the front of her hair falling back into place. “Will do; see you later sis.” “See ya, Isamu.”
Yanagi wandered around the small clearing they’d been training in, giving her legs time to adjust to not running and kicking constantly. Warm-down finished, she grabbed her bag from the base of a large tree and set off in a random direction, walking almost parallel to the village wall, half a mile away. Gradually she got closer, but found cause to stop a while before she reached the village boundaries.
A small girl, maybe eleven or twelve based on her size and frame, eating in a clearing. Her bright-white hair glinted in the strong Fire Country sunshine, and her unusual eyes stood out against her pale skin. ‘Random place for a picnic,’ Yanagi thought, concealed about one hundred yards away behind a tree and cluster of bushes. Despite her age and the innocent scene, something about her made Yanagi...wary? Well, not quite, but close. ‘It’s unlikely someone her age is more than a genin, chuunin at best, if she’s even a ninja. Why feel edgy? She wondered, green eyes narrowed and frowning. Still, she couldn’t help how she felt, so she went for the cautious approach. Shifting into a large wildcat, she slunk forward, peering cautiously into the clearing at the girl before padding closer, amber eyes wary.

Eiko thought she heard someone approaching, she enjoyed the peace and quite so when it was disturbed she was keenly aware of it. Her reddish eyes flicked towards the source of the sound and a stern look spread across her features as the wildcat emerged. Why had she heard foot steps when this thing was padding so softly. Although she didn't jump straight to thinking the beast was a ninja she was annoyed by it's presence. She reached into her long kimono sleeves, grabbed a couple of senbon needles and in the same motion she used to withdraw her hand from the sleeve launched one at the cat and one into the bushes where she thought someone was hiding. Her arm was a blur as it moved but after throw she retracted her arm with the same slow speed she usually displayed.
It didn't matter if she hit the cat and the ninja she beleived to be in the bushes, she just wanted them to go away and leave her to eat peacefully. It seemed there was nowhere she could go to be alone in silence, someone always came along to interupt. She wasn't a cruel person but her time with Kuro was clearly twisting her mentality as she thought about how if she'd been on her feet she'd have kicked the cat like a ball.

Yanagi hissed viciously, leaping backwards, her fur bristling as it stood on end, making her twice her normal size. However, her approach had gained her the results she’d been after she knew this kid was most probably a ninja, and apparently a bad-tempered one at that. Still acting the part of an annoyed, disgruntled cat, her hiss faded to a deep-throated growl as she glared at the white-haired girl, tawny fur fluffed up. With short, jerky movements she darted back into the bushes, keeping an eye on the stranger until she was fully concealed.
Changing back, she remained motionless as she sat with her back against a tree, thinking. She shifted position quietly, and as she did so a stray glint of reflected sunshine caught her eye. The senbon needle the child had thrown into the bush. Well, she may as well return it. Shifting back to the wild cat to move, she moved softly across the few metre distance to where the needle lay. Human once more, she plucked it from the ground then proceeded out into the clearing, her face impassive.
In emerging from where the stranger had thrown the needle rather than where the wild cat had fled to reduced the chance of this kid making any link between the cat and the human that now stood before her.
“I figured you’d want this back,” She said, tossing the needle casually across to the kimono-clad girl, then stooping to scoop up the one that had been aimed at her and throwing that back as well. “Any reason why you’re randomly attacking a curious animal?” She asked, folding her arms and standing only just outside the shadow of the trees. Yes, the girl had moved slowly after throwing the needles, but during the action she’d been as fast as Yanagi, if not faster. ‘You’ve lost your element of surprise in that area, kid,’ She thought, eyeing the girl carefully in case she tried anything.
“Who are you, and why are you here?” She may as well get the necessary questions out the way now.

The cat evaded her senbon despite her speed, most animals would have been skewered. There was something abnormal about it. She glared at the girl as she emerged from the bushes with her senbon. The cat was linked to her some how, perhaps a familiar of some sort or a summon. Eiko didn't really care. What she did care about though was how much this girl was going to ruin her day. That was until she opened her mouth to speak at which point Eiko could presume the rest of her day was going to be full of mindless nattering. She moved quickly but not abnormally so to grab the senbon as Yanagi threw it to her. She had half a mind to throw it at her eye but chose instead to try and avoid conflict.
"Eiko, to eat lunch," she said quietly, answering both questions at once. She hated conversation like cats hated being punctured by senbon. She was trying to give the girl the hint to just go away but if she couldn't do this Eiko would just up and attack. Slowly she pulled on of her legs forward so that she was kneeling on the other. She could sit like this for hours and she could spring from it in an instant.

Yanagi didn’t let her impatience show. If the girl – Eiko – was going to give as concise answers as possible, she’d simply have to ask more questions. “And what are you doing so close to Konoha? You’re a shinobi, I take it, but I’ve never seen you in the village anywhere, nor heard of anyone fitting your description. I doubt you’re a Konoha ninja, and so I’d like to know why a shinobi from another village is so close to this one.” She continued, speaking at a measured pace.
She noticed a very slight shift in the folds of Eiko’s kimono, indicating a movement, though what it was Yanagi had no idea. She’d barely picked up on the movement at all, thanks to the shape-concealing clothing. Yanagi already knew Eiko’s slow speed to be deceptive, so she held herself slightly tensed, chakra burning in her legs as she prepared for the possibility of having to move quickly. This could easily turn into a fight; she could tell that Eiko didn’t appreciate having her lunch interrupted, and the whole business with the senbon gave Yanagi reason to think her quick or bad tempered.
‘I can’t tell much because of that kimono, but should this become a fight, it looks like things might be in my favour. She’s fast, but small, light-boned from what I can see. I doubt any physical attacks she tries herself will have much power, but still...don’t go underestimating her.’ This analysis ran though Yanagi’s mind in a single second, more impressions of the words than actually thinking them.
“What is it you want?” She asked softly, practically to herself as her steady green eyes met the peculiar, brown-red ones.

Eiko observed the tension in the body of the young brunette. She seemed to have a good few years on Eiko but age had nothing to do with this. She may have a physical advantage when it came down to taijutsu but she was confident in her own speed and jutsu not to worry about it. She likely underestimating the Konoha ninja without realising it. Spending so much time with Kuro had made her confidence go to her head.
"What I want is for you to go away," she replied in her barely audible voice but with a tone of resounding irritation. This girl was a fool, a deduction Eiko made as their eyes made contact, had she been a user of genjutsu she'd have been caught by now. Since she was a fool Eiko decided that this was her final warning, any more words and she would vent the frustration she'd been building up for days in Kuro's company. Again she moved slowly though this motion was less discreet than the last as she folded her arms slipping her arms in each of her long sleeves. She unfastened her fans from their straps and postioned them in her hands so the could be flicked open easily. She remained in her arms folded postion now. It was another confusing tactic of hers as the stance was not one associated with readiness to spring into action but she was ready, poised to move like lightning.

Yanagi shook her head briefly. “Not gonna happen until you answer my other questions. Depending on your answers, I may leave or not,” She replied, though she doubted that she would get much more talking out of Eiko. Though her voice was very quiet, Yanagi could hear in it the distinct edge of annoyance bordering on anger.
In the event Eiko initiated a fight, Yanagi slowly stepped away from the trees, making sure she had plenty of room to move. At the speed the foreign ninja moved, Yanagi may be forced into moving in a certain direction. If that happened to be backwards, she didn’t want a tree to get in her way.
Seeing Eiko’s arms fold, Yanagi wondered for a moment if she’d been reading her incorrectly – maybe she wasn’t planning on fighting. But, that would be a perfect mindset for Yanagi to be in if Eiko did attack – unprepared. None of her indecision showed in Yanagi’s eyes, and she didn’t relax. Though the possibility of this ending as a benign, if ill-tempered meeting continued to niggle at the back of her mind, Yanagi still looked forward to the possible worst-case scenario, per usual; if you expected the worst, then you’d always be relieved or pleased with anything better than that.

[OOC - Don't worry happens to me all the time. =]
Eiko looked Yanagi fiercely in the eyes, she hadn't taken her chance to leave unscathed and now she was going to suffer the consequences. Eiko leapt upwards into the air using what she thought was her secret speed. It was easy to push her light frame into the air and as she did so her kimono fluttered in a swirl of silk. She withdrew her arms from her sleeves as she rose into the air and flicked the fans open in a swiping motion to release an arc of senbon down at what had become her opponant. At least she was clever enough to get away from the trees. Eiko would waste no more breath on this girl, her aim was simply to hurt her.
She allowed herself to drop gentley back to the grass before dashing towards Yanagi, her fans were her weapons and were razor sharp, even without the addition of her chakra so Eiko slashed out with them. The air whistled as the cut through it, moving with Eiko's attack speed. She was going to make this girl bleed and cry until she had learnt not to bother people with her noise.

Yanagi nodded to herself, acknowledging that Eiko was done talking, and her speed. Her jump, at least, was a fraction slower than Yanagi’s own speed, but of course the child could be holding back; not wanting to waste her energy on what, to her, would appear as a nuisance.
Quite slowly for her, but still fast enough to avoid the senbon, Yanagi fell to her right into an easy series of cartwheels and flips, moving only as far as necessary to avoid being skewered. However, that made her move into Eiko’s ground attack. A last flip, coupled with a rapid change of direction allowed her to avoid it causing any real damage, though it sliced her forearm slightly as Yanagi vaulted over Eiko’s head, spinning in the air to land facing the white-haired girl. Not missing a beat, she leant to the side to lash out with a powerful kick at Eiko’s back.
“That’s twice you’ve used senbon now; I’d guess you’re skilled in that field? Also, you’re a Fuuton user? I’m basing that on your weapon choice; and that your initial attack was one you could strengthen with a Fuuton jutsu.” She assessed, not really expecting an answer as she waited for Eiko to move again. So far, Yanagi wasn’t viewing her as a threat serious enough to be removed instantly; if she could she’d just let the kid tire herself out on attacks then try and get more answers from her. Failing in that, she’d take her to the village to be questioned. Plus, she was rather reluctant to attack a child, though if said child forced her to, she wouldn’t try and avoid it any further.
“Answer my questions, truthfully, and I’ll stop hassling you if the situation dictates. If not, then you’re stuck fighting me first, then you’re gonna have to put up with me even longer when I take you back to the village so that your motives can be discerned. Your choice,” Yanagi continued, shrugging slightly. If Eiko decided to go for the easy option, then she’d just have to hope her answers were benign enough for Yanagi to let her go.

Eiko had been assessed accurately, there was no point holding back her elemental jutsu as a trump card. The girl was still going on with the talking thing but Eiko ignored it for the most part. It was just irritating noise now. Spinning round on one foot she kicked up at Yanagi's face. she had to jump up a little as she did so because her legs just weren't long enough to reach her target on their own. All the while she was focussing her chakra on her fans. "Fuuton - Rinrintaru Shippuu no Jutsu," she said as she slashed at Yanagi again. This time she released a large cutting arc of chakra from fan as she launched her attack. "I gave you the option to leave me alone in peace, you disregarded it and now I'll cut out your tongue for being so loud," she warned quietly. Her eyes flashed menacingly as they reflected the silver metal of her weapons.

Yanagi snatched hold of Eiko’s ankle, chakra gathered quietly in her arm in case the girl’s kick was stronger than it looked. No sooner had she stopped the physical attack than she was practically throwing the limb away and dropping to the ground, practically flat to try and avoid the powerful arc of wind. It felt vaguely like her back was being flayed as it sliced over her, but no such damage was done. If she’d still been standing in its way, it would have probably cut her in half.
It was Yanagi’s turn to disregard Eiko’s words – seeing as the kid was using potentially deadly attack, Yanagi was upping her game. Rather than replying, Yanagi rocketed from her low position upwards into a tackle. She appeared to, anyway, only moving as fast as she had previously. Just before she got into fan range, which was about the length of Eiko’s fore-arms again, Yanagi blurred to her left in a burst of increased speed, right-hand sword slipping silently out as she moved behind Eiko, aiming to wrap her sword arm around the girl’s throat and immobilise her. Hopefully having a sword pressed against her throat would stop her attacks and provoke some rational answers out of her.

Eiko's face contorted when her foot was grabbed and put a little extra ferocity into her wind attack. Again the girl dodged her, again Eiko was displeased. When the girl sprang forwards in what appeared to be a tackle, Eiko instinctively took a step backwards and readied herself to slash with her fans again. The girl proceded to use one of Eiko's favourite tactics against her, speeding up in a blur and darting around her. Eiko was fast but by the time she was ready to react the cold metal of the sword was pressing against her thin, pale neck. She felt the blade prick her skin, a testement to it's keeness, the pressure was enough that Eiko couldn't just move to be free of it. She froze, letting her arms fall down a little though keeping the fans open. She needed to think and at the moment she didn't think this girl had the intention of killing her so she decided not to struggle until she had a plan. Maybe the girl would slip up and she could get free or maybe she'd give up and let her go anyway. Regardless she was plotting revenge.

Yanagi wasn’t fooled into letting Eiko go when she stopped struggling. Oldest trick in the book – make your opponent think you’ve given up, then kill them while their guard’s down. Not likely.
“Same questions as before. I’d like some answers,” She stated simply, not relaxing her grip or cautious gaze. She had no idea what tricks the girl had remaining up those concealing kimono sleeves, and had no desire to find out during another fight.
With anyone else, she would have said more than what she had. But with this girl it seemed less is more; either she had the shortest attention span in the world or was the most impatient person in the world when it came to words. In any case, she wasn’t giving Yanagi much chance to give her what she wanted – to be left alone. Had Eiko answered sooner, preferably without attacking, and had given reasonable, non-threatening answers, Yanagi would have gone on her business and be having lunch at home, arguing with her brother over who beat who by now. As it was, both she and the small girl were stuck doing something other than what they wanted, just because the kid was being uncooperative.
Well, Yanagi had been too curious for her own good too, but with good reason. Though it was unlikely a kid could be plotting to infiltrate Konoha with dire intentions, you could never be too cautious. Look at the Sound and Sand attack – though the Chuunin exams were meant to strengthen bonds between villages and all that talk, Sandaime Hokage had instead been killed by an S-class missing nin, because Konoha had perhaps been too trusting.
Trust didn’t get you very far in life, apparently. Great.
Apart from the quips about trust etc, that part of her thoughts were what she would have said had she been detaining anyone but this silent, violent child. Instead, she settled for the bare minimum. Questions. Answers.

She wasn't stupid enough for Eiko's plan and with the sword pressing against her throught she couldn't even escape with the body flicker technique. Time for a new plan. She flipped her fans shut having already ruled attcking from this position too likely to result in a beheading. The girl ought to suffer for this and indeed she would but for this to happen without Eiko's pale skin being sliced open at the neck she would need to be released first.
She could spin a fantastic lie, though her temper and quiet had always made lying difficult. She could also do as the girl wanted and answer the questions honestly. She doubted telling the truth would sound realistic after her vicious attack. Perhaps a mixture of fabrication and the truth would satisfy the girl enough to let her go. Eiko concentrated as hard as she could on forcing tears from her eyes, her body tensing with the strain until they came streaming from her red eyes. She let her body fall loose though she made sure she was supporting herself suffciently enough to avoid adding to the pressure of the blade against her neck.
"Forgive me," she whispered. "It keeps happening to me, why does it keep happening!?" she asked herself allowing horror to fill her quiet little voice. " What have I done to you!? I'm so sorry. I ju- I just can't control myself when the voice starts speaking!" she said through violent sobs she was inducing. Playing an insane little girl might also excuse her from her next attack when she got her chance at it. " I was eating lunch and then I'm at your sword, I'm so sorry, I don't know what I've done, please forgive me," she continued allowing her body to tremble.

Yanagi listened, an eyebrow arched as she patiently heard Eiko’s tearful explanation. ‘A very convenient answer; ‘the voice’ – typical ‘insane’ get-out clause. Even if she’s telling the truth, there’s no way I’m giving her the room to attack again, genuinely psychotic or not.’ She assessed silently, trying to judge if the shaking girl was acting or not. Her voice before, even when she’d been having lunch, had been flat and emotionless. The change could be attributed to the so-called ‘voice’, but why would it have already been in place when all she was doing was eating? Unless she’d been planning to attack her food before eating it, of course.
‘Well, let her think I’m being roped in, for now.’ “Alright, just calm down. I won’t hurt you if you can’t help it,” Yanagi said gently, “I’m really sorry about this, but I’m going to have to keep you like this-” Yanagi twitched her sword slightly to show what she meant, though the pressure didn’t change, “-just in case you attack me again if I let you go. I hope you understand?” She said, concern mingling with politeness in her tone Well, it made sense. This ‘voice’ had retreated when Eiko was prevented from attacking and when she was possibly about to be killed, again convenient timing. If it could come and go so easily, if it even existed, then Yanagi wasn’t about to take the risk of it ‘coming back’ when she let go of the girl. So, time to call her bluff, if she could.
“I can take you to the village to see if the medic-nin can do anything about this voice. On the way you could answer my questions, if you would. That way we both get what we want,” She said, seemingly genuine kindness in her tone, as if she thought she were being helpful.
If Eiko complied and went to the village, they’d soon find out if there was anything wrong with her. If not, it probably meant she was lying anyway.

Clearly the plan wasn't working quite the way Eiko had originally intended. Yanagi was reluctant to let her free, as anyone who had just been engaged in battle would be. She was also still insistant that Eiko should return to Konoha with her. She was thinking as fast as she could so that everything in her lie remained fluent. "I'm sorry," she repeated in her whisper, allowing her trembling to slowly lessen in violence. "I was only getting supplies for my friend, I need to find him. I thought I'd be okay on my own, this keeps happening so suddenly."
Although she had allowed the trembling to subside the tears still streamed down her cheeks. To create this emotion she was tapping into deeply supressed memories of her fathers funeral and the day her mothers death was announced. It was difficult to maintain her cool and vent all this pent up anger and sorrow but if eiko wanted to escape she needed to get through this. "I'll answer your questions but please let me go back to Kuro. Kuro makes the voice stay away but when he's not around I lose myself!" Her voice was still quiet, and her false personality was sickening but she forced a slight anxiety into her sobs. She hoped she could avoid going back to the village this way, if not it would have to get violent again.

The way Eiko was consistently trying to put off going to the village was only making Yanagi more convinced that the girl was lying about the whole thing. If she really was mentally unstable, then being offered the chance to see if this problem could be removed during this apparent time of being in control of her thoughts and actions would surely get her attention, and her consent?
“But if I let you go to your friend – Kuro, was it? – it would involve me letting you go. Try and see things from my point of view-” ‘Or the one I’m telling you, anyway,’ She thought, still bordering on suspicious, “-if I let you go, how do I know you won’t attack me again, voluntarily or not? I’m sorry, but once I get you to the village and I know I’m safe in leaving you, then I can look for your friend and bring him to you, since he’s that important.” Yanagi kept up the kind, slightly apologetic tone as she spoke, though her hold didn’t loosen. This strange girl worried her slightly, though it wasn’t just her tears that made Yanagi uneasy. As ever, her thoughts were leaning towards battle-orientated. She wouldn’t have thought Eiko would be past genin level, though that was based on her age. Yes, Yanagi knew that people could become Chuunin at young ages, though it was quite rare. However her skill in the short battle they’d already fought had contested her opinion – she doubted many genin could fight that well on their own.
But regardless of her rank, having that much skill at her age made Eiko worthy of a healthy level of suspicion. It could make Yanagi keep underestimating her, even subconsciously, so if things did turn violent again, Yanagi couldn’t effectively evaluate the odds. That uncertainty, more than anything else, was what bothered her. So, Yanagi was going to persist in trying to keep the girl contained, and avoid a fight if she could, though it wouldn’t stop her fighting if she must.
[OOC: okay, no idea what I was going on about there.]

This girl just wouldn't let up. Her lie was riddled with flaws and she needed a new approach. She wasn't going to drop the lie, that was just going to show that she was dishonest so she began to weigh up her options as a new wave of trembling and tears swept through her body. The girl was from Konoha which meant she was likely to have lived a comfortable life. The young konoha ninja were prone to having difficulty when it came down to killing an opponant due to their easy training style. It wasn't likely that chuunin and ranks below would be sent on missions to kill an enemy anyway but she knew people in Konoha tended to understand compassion better than most. Eiko also knew that she had attacked this girl with potentially fatal techniques and so she may not hold back as Eiko would have liked if she were to simply struggle her way free. As a new plan dawned on her she intensified the shaking.
"I understand," she said with the vibrations of her sobs shaking her voice too. Her new plan involved a mild sacrifice to work but she was hoping Yanagi would react appropriately. She knew she had bandages in her freshly acquired supply bag over on the other side of the clearing, she could take the risk she intended too as long as she could get over to the bag imediately after yanagi was dealt with. Eiko's trembling reached it's pinnacle and her knees started to wobble in what seemed an in incontrolable manner. "I - I - " she stuttered as she gave her body over to gravity. She allowed her throat to catch the blade and apply her body weight to it as she fainted. She felt the blade digging in and hoped for her own sake Yanagi was as compassionate as most of the people in Konoha and wouldn't allow her to die like this. If Eiko was wrong she'd either end up dead or in Konoha's hospital with less chance of escape. Already the flow of warm blood streamed down her neck into her kimono. She just needed the faint to be real so she allowed her eyes to roll around wildly without restraint.
[ooc- don't let her die please - depending on your next post i might let her get captured.]

Any wondering thoughts about Eiko’s shaking were promptly kicked out of Yanagi’s head as the smaller girl suddenly dropped. Swearing in a fashion that showed the amount of time she'd spent hanging around with the lads, Yanagi turned her blade so that the flat of it pressed against Eiko’s neck instead, stopping it from biting any deeper as she used her elbow to knock the fainting girl into her free left arm, supporting her sudden deadweight easily.
Ignoring the girl’s subsiding shaking for a moment, Yanagi lifted her blade so that the tip still rested against Eiko’s skin, but Yanagi could see under the blade to see how much damage had been done. The gash itself looked nasty; the angle of the blade had practically peeled the flesh away. Despite appearances, the wound was quite shallow, nothing worrying, though a bandage wouldn’t go amiss.
Satisfied that Eiko wasn’t about to bleed out on her, Yanagi turned her attention to the fact that Eiko was, apparently, unconscious. ‘Now what? Do I carry her back to Konoha or wait for her to come round?’ She wondered, slowly kneeling down. ‘Recovery position for now, give her a minute, then off to the hospital if she doesn’t come to before then,’ The dark-haired ninja decided, carefully laying the smaller girl on the ground, though she kept the tip of her sword trained over Eiko’s jugular. Any strange or unexpected movements would result in a slightly deeper, intentional wound this time. Maybe not a fatal one, but it’d be enough to stop anyone from objecting to a hospital.
[ooc: If you can get her to escape, feel free – apart from throwing her into custody, I dunno what to do with a captured Eiko haha]
